Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Commercial Concrete Finisher to perform carpentry tasks associated with prepping, pouring, placing and finishing of concrete. You will erect and set forms for foundations, floors, walls, columns, and other cast-in-place structures per specifications and drawings.

This role requires reading drawings, building and placing forms, ensuring proper elevations, coordinating with foremen, maintaining safety, and assisting with concrete placement

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand drawings and prints.
• Experience building and assembling wood or metal forms for concrete components.
• Set forms to proper elevations and locations and may aid in reinforcing steel.
• Coordinate with Foreman or Project Manager on safety, materials, or hazards.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand drawings and prints.
• Build and/or assemble wood or metal forms for the construction of concrete floors, slabs, walls, columns, tilt-walls, elevated slabs, elevator cores, etc.
• Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations and may aid in installing reinforcing steel.
• Set and erect forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems, primarily symon forms.
• Verify accuracy of structures using a plumb bob, carpenter's level, laser and/or digital transit.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Communicate with Foreman, Riding Boss, or Project Manager regarding problems, materials, or safety hazards identified.
• Ensure equipment is all in safe working condition.
• May help signal concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring.
• Observe and comply with all safety policies and guidelines.
• Assist with placement of concrete as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
