Job summary

B&B Concrete in Macon, GA is seeking a Commercial Concrete Finisher to perform carpentry tasks associated with prepping, pouring, placing, and finishing of concrete. This role includes erecting and setting forms for structures and site work per specifications and drawings.

The successful candidate will read drawings, build forms, place forms accurately, and ensure safety policies are followed while assisting with concrete placement as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or contracting industry.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand drawings and prints.
• Build and/or assemble wood or metal forms for concrete floors, slabs, walls, columns, tilt-walls, elevated slabs, elevator cores, stairways, etc.
• Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations and assist with installing reinforcing steel.
• Set and erect forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems, primarily symon forms.
• Verify accuracy of structures using a plumb bob, carpenter's level, laser and/or digital transit.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Communicate with Foreman, Riding Boss, or Project Manager regarding problems, materials, or safety hazards.
• Ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• Assist with signaling concrete deliverer to position truck for pouring.
• Observe and comply with all safety policies and guidelines.
• Assist with placement of concrete as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
