Position Description:

Manage end-to-end Commissioning processes for new or retrofit facilities, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and verifying facility operations aligned with owners' project requirements. Develop and coordinate site-specific commissioning activities as part of the Quality Control plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Manage commissioning activities during Levels 1 through 5 for new or retrofit facilities.
  2. Establish collaborative relationships with architects, engineers, trade partners, and operations teams to streamline project delivery.
  3. Implement policies supporting project schedules and contractual obligations.
  4. Coordinate with Quality Control and MEP teams to ensure successful completion of checklists, documents, and activities.
  5. Understand contractual milestones and obligations, including those created by third-party commissioning agents.
  6. Manage commissioning and QC plans for contractual turnovers.
  7. Define and manage on-site resource requirements.
  8. Create and manage start-up and commissioning schedules, minimizing overlap of activities.
  9. Collaborate with equipment vendors and ensure adherence to QC plans.
  10. Facilitate meetings and contribute to development of QC plans and online databases.
  11. Oversee development of dashboards and review trends to address issues.
  12. Support pre-installation meetings and establish punch list prevention plans.
  13. Coordinate third-party testing and inspections.
  14. Participate in onboarding new project staff, trade partners, and vendors.
  15. Perform equipment delivery inspections to ensure compliance.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years of construction experience in MEP roles or related.
  • At least 5 years of commissioning experience bridging field and engineering responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, and quality management.
  • Desired: ASHRAE Certification and experience with Building Management Systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and project schedules.
Physical Demands:

Frequent sitting, handling, reaching, and computer use. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and negotiate construction sites. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.

Work Environment:

Combination of office and construction site work, with exposure to mechanical parts, heights, fumes, weather, and electrical hazards. Compliance with safety policies required.
