Job description

Position Overview

This position involves a full-time traveling assignment across the United States, supporting Data Center or EV projects. The role reports to our Global Critical Facilities (TECH) vertical. Prior experience in data centers or advanced technology projects is strongly preferred.

Position Description

Manage end-to-end Commissioning processes and delivery of new or retrofit facilities to ensure compliance with contract requirements and verify operational standards in line with owners' project needs. Develop and coordinate site-specific commissioning activities as part of the Quality Control plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Manage commissioning activities from Level 1 through Level 5 for new or retrofit facilities.
  2. Establish collaborative relationships with architects, engineers, trade partners, and operations teams to enhance project delivery and compliance.
  3. Implement policies supporting project schedules and contractual obligations.
  4. Coordinate with Quality Control and MEP teams to ensure successful completion of checklists, documents, and activities following approved plans.
  5. Understand major project milestones and contractual obligations related to commissioning.
  6. Manage commissioning and QC plans during contractual turnovers.
  7. Define and manage on-site resource requirements for all project stakeholders.
  8. Create and integrate commissioning schedules into overall project timelines, ensuring sequencing and minimal overlap.
  9. Collaborate with equipment vendors and manage adherence to QC plans.
  10. Facilitate meetings to communicate plans and schedule updates.
  11. Contribute to the development of project-specific QC plans and online equipment databases.
  12. Oversee quality dashboards, identify trends, and address issues proactively.
  13. Support pre-installation meetings and communicate scope and expectations.
  14. Manage inspections, documentation, and compliance of OFCI & CFCI equipment.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 12 years of construction experience in roles such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineer or Superintendent, including PE and trade-specific work.
  • Minimum 5 years of field and engineering experience in commissioning.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, and quality management; USACE certification is a plus.
  • ASHRAE commissioning certification or in-depth understanding of the process.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems, environmental controls, and electrical power management.
  • Ability to interpret project documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Travel may be required.
Physical Demands

Must be able to perform physical tasks including climbing stairs and ladders, and moving up to 45 pounds. Must be mobile and able to work on-site at construction locations and offices.

Work Environment

Primarily on-site at construction sites with exposure to mechanical parts, heights, airborne particles, weather conditions, and electrical hazards. Work may also occur in office or remote settings.
