Russell Co. seeks a Traveling Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities across projects in the Midwest. You will supervise all phases, coordinate trades, manage schedules, and ensure quality in collaboration with project teams on large ground-up initiatives.

We value strong communication, safety leadership, and the ability to travel as required. A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and 5+ years of field experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent mix of training and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience as a superintendent.
• Computer experience required.
• Strong management and communication skills.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Experience with large ground-up projects and diverse portfolio preferred.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate and supervise on-site trade activities across all phases.
• Adhere to the project schedule and communicate with project team.
• Monitor safety program and enforce corrective measures.
• Maintain positive client relationships and attend meetings.
• Assist in estimating, review of subcontractors, and master schedule development.

How You’ll Contribute

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will help us reach our strategic growth goals by supervising all phases of the construction project.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising on-site trade employee activities during all phases of the construction project.
• Ability to adhere to the project schedule.
• Effectively communicate with the project manager, architect, engineer and other project team members to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule.
• Responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety program requirements and ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
• The ability to maintain positive client relationships is key.
• Attends and/or conducts project status and other related meetings as required and/or requested by project manager.
• Assisting in estimating, review of subcontractor and material proposals, development of the master schedule.
• Assisting in review of shop drawings for key materials and finalization of as-builts, turnover and walk throughs for equipment and material.

Requirements

This full time position requires a bachelors degree in engineering or construction management OR an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Requires a minimum of 5 years commercial construction experience as superintendent. Computer experience required. Management and communication skills are essential. Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to supervise large groups essential. Large ground up project experience desired. Diverse project experience important. Travel is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License in good standing.
