The role requires about 50% travel across the United States for Emergency Response projects, with travel expenses covered and per diem offered. Competitive starting hourly wage with pay raises in first year, plus paid training academy out of state.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.
• No restrictions, ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Ability to use various mobile devices for job tasks.
• Must pass a background check, drug test and physical.
• Follow OSHA Respiratory Protection standards (facial hair rules).

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of Class A trucks at customer sites.
• Loading and unloading of trucks and manual labor on site.
• Maintain safety and comply with DOT, local, state and federal regulations.
• Prepare daily logs and time sheets.
• Be on call for emergency response on rotating basis if assigned.
• Perform site remediation and hazardous materials handling as needed.

Clean Harbors in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks/work equipment at our customer sites; some of the vehicles operated include vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll offs. This role is responsible for performing driving and non-driving duties on and off customer sites associated with hazardous waste clean-up.

This position requires about 50% travel around the United States for Emergency Response projects. All travel expenses are paid for by the company and per diem is offered while traveling. Hours and schedule are not guaranteed, and will vary with emergency response needs. We offer a competitive starting hourly wage with opportunity to earn several pay increases over your first 12 months. Your first two weeks will be attending the paid training Academy, typically held out of state.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (team atmosphere where everyone helps)
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks
• Loading and unloading of trucks
• Manual labor on site to ensure fulfillment of customer needs
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
• By position, ability to be on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other week
• By position, site‑remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL
• No restrictions, ability to operate a manual transmission
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driver experience
• Previous Hazmat experience
• Previous manual labor experience
