Job summary

Focus Staff seeks a Traveling Medical Technologist for a 13-week contract in San Francisco, CA. You will validate and report laboratory results promptly, performing routine chemical, microbiologic, hematologic, molecular, and immunohematology procedures.

Requirements include 2+ years as a Certified Medical Technologist, AHA BLS, and excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families. This traveling assignment offers a competitive compensation package, health insurance, 401K

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist (Certified Medical Technologist)
• AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from lab or directly from patient
• Prepare and test specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and/or other bodily fluids
• Perform hands-on tasks in drawing blood and preparing the area
• Monitor vital signs when working with patients
• Analyze and report specimen test results
• Process, record, and analyze tested data
• Enter information into medical databases
• Work under supervision of the medical technologist
• Ensure accuracy of data using appropriate methods
• Maintain a sterile environment and proper waste disposal
• Operate diagnostic machinery and complex lab equipment
