Job summary

Hanwha Convergence USA is seeking a Field Technician 2 to perform routine site maintenance of inverters, transformers, trackers, BESS units, and related equipment across C&I solar and energy storage sites. You will work closely with senior technicians to build knowledge and skills in the solar industry.

The role requires traveling up to 75% of the time, performing electrical testing, system repairs, and compliance with safety protocols including LOTO and PPE.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and Microsoft Office suite experience.
• Basic electrical principles knowledge.
• Basic understanding of common hand tools.
• Travel upwards of 75% of the time.
• Prefers CMMS experience; knowledge of electrical testing equipment helpful.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair inverters, trackers, BESS units and related systems on sites.
• Support routine testing and repair of AC/DC electrical circuits.
• Travel to troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment across C&I sites.
• Manage site inventories and ensure safety compliance (LOTO, PPE).
• Log activities in HEIS 2.0 CMMS and coordinate with facility managers for visits.

Position Summary

The Field Technician 2 position is to perform routine site maintenance of the inverters, transformers, combiner boxes, trackers, modules, BESS units, etc. Field Technician 2 will work closely with senior Field Technicians to improve their knowledge and skills in the solar industry.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and support repair of inverters, trackers, BESS units and other systems on sites.
• Support routine testing and repair of AC and DC electrical circuits.
• Travel to troubleshoot and support repair of faulty equipment around all C&I sites
• Travel to perform Bi-annual and annual maintenance on all C&I sites
• Manage all the sites inventories and equipment.
• Ensure site safety and security.
• Observe safety electrical testing and apply LOTO to ensure a safe working environment for maintenance and repairs.

• Log and record all activities performed in computer maintenance management system HEIS 2.0.
• Adhere to all site safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and safe working practices.
• Perform all solar and/or Bess site activities not listed above.
• Work with site contacts/facility managers to schedule visits to the facilities

Education And/or Experience Requirements

• Required:
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office suite experience
• Basic electrical principles knowledge
• Basic understanding of common hand tools
• Travel upwards of 75% of the time
• Preferred:
• Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs
• Electrical testing equipment knowledge (multimeter, IV Curve Tracer, etc.)
• Basic SCADA system monitoring and application experience
• 2+ Years solar experience (Commercial and Industrial preferred)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Required:
• Ability to mostly work in an outside environment
• Lifting items greater than 35 pounds
• Walking on uneven ground
• Ability to handle temperature extremes.
• Able to wear and safely utilize all PPE required to perform tasks.
• Ability to work at heights and on rooftops or climb tall ladders
