Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a General Ultrasound Technologist for a night shift at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Charleston. You will perform OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, and small parts imaging with Doppler capabilities.

Requirements include 1 year of experience, BLS, ARDMS/ARRT(S), and graduation from an accredited sonography program. Local candidates and travel experience preferred; Epic and PACS in use.

  • Proficient in abdominal Doppler imaging and transplant studies
  • BLS certification required
  • ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • SC state ultrasound license not required
  • License required if applicable
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

  • Perform general ultrasound studies including OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, and small parts imaging
  • Work 3x12 hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • No on-call requirements
  • Will float between Main campus and ART as facility needs require
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Equipment includes PACS, Philips, and Siemens ultrasound systems
  • Radiation badge not required
  • Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season

Job description

Responsibilities
  • General Ultrasound Tech position with varying daily caseload
  • 3x12 hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • No on-call requirements
  • Will float between Main campus and ART as facility needs require
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Equipment includes PACS, Philips, and Siemens ultrasound systems
  • Perform general ultrasound studies including OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, and small parts imaging
  • Skills include abdominal aorta, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, and renal/bladder imaging
  • Experience with color flow and doppler studies, renal artery duplex, and TIPS procedures preferred
  • Work with adult patients across Emergency Department, ICU, and portable imaging settings
  • Teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
  • Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status and 865 staffed beds
  • Scrub requirements are teal tops and black bottoms
  • Radiation badge not required
  • Radius rule of 60 miles applies; local candidates considered case-by-case at a reduced rate
  • Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All RTO must be submitted at time of application and is subject to facility approval
  • Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
