Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with 1+ year of experience and RDMS certification to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in a hospital setting.

The role features a 4x10 shift schedule (40 hours per week) and uses Epic for charting. You will perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction, ensure proper patient identification, and maintain high-quality imaging while assisting in teaching and maintaining patient safety.

Qualifications

• RDMS certification through ARDMS with breast specialty and an additional registry required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification from AHA must not expire before start.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to aid diagnosis.
• Manage patient identification, order verification, and exam prep.
• Review images for quality and complete studies within time limits.
• Instruct students and other radiology staff on exam protocols.
• Provide patient education and ensure comfort during procedures.
• Maintain infection control and sterile techniques.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty
• High school diploma or GED required
• BLS certification required (AHA, must not expire prior to start)
• RDMS certification through ARDMS required, including breast specialty (RDMS-BR) and at least one additional registry (OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, or vascular)
• License required if applicable
• Ability to lift, bend, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies, including heavy items
• Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate crowded, busy environments
• Manual dexterity for precise operation of delicate equipment
• Strong verbal communication skills, especially in emergency situations
• Proficiency with computers and typing for documentation

Responsibilities

• Work both independently and collaboratively within a care team
• Respond effectively to emergency situations
• Returning Intermountain employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
