Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a Bakersfield, CA assignment. The role requires 1 year of ultrasound experience, BLS and ARDMS certification, and state licensing where applicable. You will perform ultrasound imaging, prep patients, and support radiologists with biopsies and reports.

This travel position runs for 13 weeks at 36 hours per week with 12-hour day shifts. Pay packages are commensurate with experience and include per-shift stipends as applicable.

Qualifications

• 1 year of ultrasound work experience.
• BLS and ARDMS National Certification.
• State-specific licensing when required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and/or family regarding procedures performed.
• Use sonographic equipment to identify areas of concern.
• Prepare exam room and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Report abnormalities requiring immediate attention to medical staff.
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure.
• Conduct scan tests and write reports based on results.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.

We are looking for an Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Bakersfield, CA. The right US Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As a US Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. US Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing ultrasound testing.

Tasks

As a US Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
• Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARDMS National Certification, and state-specific licensing when required.

Requirements*: BLS, ARDMS, 2 Years * Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
