Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Rockport, Maine. The CT Tech will work 36 hours per week on 12-hour daytime shifts, performing diagnostic CT scans and patient care with emphasis on safety and image quality.

Requirements include 1 year of CT experience, ARRT (CT) certification with registration, BLS, and state licensing as needed. PACS experience (McKesson) and strong anatomy knowledge are expected.

• 1 year of CT technologist experience required.
• ARRT CT certification with registration; BLS required.
• State licensing as needed for the location.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients, review requests and explain imaging procedures.
• Position patients and operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
• Administer radiocontrast and ensure image quality.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and maintain records.
• Use McKesson PACS system for imaging storage and retrieval.

We are looking for a Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Rockport, ME. The right CT Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As a CT Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients, providing reassurance and support as required
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Appropriately position patients to scan specific areas of their bodies
• Use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues
• Administer radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues
• Evaluate CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (CT) National Certification with registration in computed tomography, and state-specific licensing when required.

CT Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop easily. CT Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
