Job summary

ACS Manufacturing is seeking a Travel Technician-Electrical to install and commission electrical components in field enclosures and switchgears. This full-time role requires travel up to four weeks at a time, with duties across construction-friendly environments in diverse sites.

You will read blueprints, wire, test electrical equipment, and install lighting and power devices, while adhering to safety standards and regulations. Denison, TX-based position with out-of-town assignments as needed.

ACS Manufacturing, Inc. has one of the largest facilities in the industry, nearly 300,000 square feet on 36 acres in Denison, Texas and has expanded its operation to 150,000 square feet facility in Abbeville, SC.

Job Summary:

The Travel Technician will be responsible for the overall installation of the compartments and electrical components within the equipment enclosures/switchgears out in the field

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Responsible for assembly, installation, wiring and testing of electrical equipment
• Connects wiring and equipment per job specifications
• Read blueprints to complete the job
• Conduit bending, hanging and pulling wire
• Installing light fixtures and switches
• Good working knowledge of power tools
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrates good listening skills
• Obey the safety standards of ACS worksite as well as follow local, state, and federal regulations; in all states
• Responsible for any other tasks that may arise; at any time

Work Environmental & Physical Demand:

• May stand for long periods of up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively, as well as frequent twisting and bending, to meet fast paced work demands
• Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights and extreme temperatures. May work inside or outside to complete work assignments. Position requires exposure to dust and dirt.
• Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment.

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

• Must have 1-3 years of electrical experience
• Must be willing to travel out of state for up to four weeks at a time
• Must have mechanical ability
• Knowledge of low voltage (less than 600 AC/DC)
• Knowledge of testing devices
• Experience running, bending and fabricating conduit preferred, but not required
• Installation of lighting and power devices
• Must be able to read tape measure
• Must be able to read blue prints, schematics, diagrams or technical orders
• Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment
