Job summary

WakeMed Travel Staffing seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room, maintain sterile technique, and support surgeons and nursing staff across WakeMed facilities in North Carolina's Triangle region.

The role requires licensure as a Certified Surgical Technologist or as a Surgical Technologist in Surgery, a high school diploma, graduate surgical technology training, and at least 1 year of clinical surgical experience. Travel across locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent.
• Graduate Surgical Technology required.
• At least 1 year of clinical surgical experience.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Tech, WakeMed Travel Staffing is an allied health professional who is an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to a variety of patient populations. Functions under the supervision of a surgeon or registered nurse to ensure that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Applies sterile and aseptic technique that combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.WakeMed Travel Staffing offers staff roles with flexibility and stability of a position in North Carolina?s Triangle region.
