Job summary

Fidelity On Call is seeking a Travel RN - Surgical to provide post-operative care for the complex surgical population in Urbana, IL. This full-time role supports patients in the post-anesthesia care unit and step-down areas, delivering high-quality nursing care during the critical recovery period.

The Travel RN will monitor wounds, manage care plans, and collaborate with surgeons and care teams while supporting patient education for ostomies and wound care.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of assignment.
• BLS (AHA) certification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
• Strong clinical, assessment, and communication skills.
• Hospital settings (post-op recovery, step-down).
• Physical demands include standing, lifting patients/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provides post-operative care for the complex surgical population.
• Assesses and intervenes to ensure positive outcomes during postoperative phase.
• Monitors and cares for newly tracheostomies.
• Assesses and maintains wounds that require a wound vac and other complex wound management.
• Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with physicians and care teams.
• Assesses and educates patient and families on new ostomies.
