Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel RN for Stepdown in Saint Louis, Missouri. This Night shift position requires 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, and a 13-week assignment starting 11/23/2026 in a high-acuity cardiothoracic unit.

Candidates must hold ACLS/BLS, a Mo or compact license, and have at least two years of stepdown/cardiac telemetry experience. Travel experience is welcomed but not required.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of submission.
• MO or compact Missouri nursing license required at time of submission.
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown/cardiac telemetry experience requested.
• No local candidates within 75 miles of Saint Louis, MO.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care for adult post-cardiothoracic surgery patients.
• Manage blood products, central lines, chest tubes, IV titrations, and vasoactive drips.
• Monitor and treat post-operative cardiac patients, including PACU-to-ICU transfer as needed.
• Uphold high acuity care with patient ratios from 1:3 to 1:5 and ensure patient safety.
• Operate in Epic EMR and coordinate with respiratory and surgical teams.

Job Details

• Education Requirement: Valid nursing license in the applicable state at time of submittal.
• Location Requirement: No local candidates accepted within a 75 mile radius.
• Years of Experience: 2.0 years required; 0 years minimum experience to apply.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Open to clinicians floating within the service line to meet facility needs.
• Previous charge experience and experience with cardiac telemetry are preferred.
• The unit provides care for adult patients requiring cardiothoracic surgery and offers a high acuity environment with patient ratios varying from 1:3 to 1:5.
• Responsibilities include managing blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, IV titrations, pacemakers, epicardial wires, and managing post-operative cardiac care.
• Necessary skills include management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, Vasoactive drips, and use of electronic medical record systems with experience in Epic preferred.
• The assignment start date is scheduled for 11/23/2026 with an end date of 02/22/2027.
• RTO (Requested Time Off): Max of 7 days must be finalized at time of submission.
• Pending License accepted; requires MO or compact license for Missouri.
• Travel experience is not required for application.
