Job Summary

The position requires managing patients with neurological and degenerative conditions, utilizing specialized assessment and treatment techniques to support patient recovery and communication.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS, Certified Clinical Competence Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP), Idaho Speech-Language Pathologist license, MBSImP, Vital Stim all required in hand at time of submission
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, including bedside swallow evaluation, Modified Barium Swallow Studies (VFSS), dysphagia management, and communication assessment
• Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as CVA, TBI, dementia, dysphagia, neurodegenerative diseases, post-extubation/trach, ACDF
• Responsibilities: Conduct bedside swallow evaluations, interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies, develop treatment plans, utilize alternative communication devices, and educate patients and families
• Required Qualifications: Valid Idaho SLP license, BLS, CCC-SLP certification, MBSImP, Vital Stim certification, minimum 1 year of experience in acute or inpatient care setting
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with acute care and adult rehabilitation facilities, charting system experience with Epic, and prior community hospital experience
• Additional Information: The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with IV teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and other special procedures relevant to neuro and dysphagia care. Orientation includes 30 hours of onsite training.
