Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Alliance, NE is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment in the acute care setting. You will evaluate and treat speech, language, and swallowing impairments, developing personalized care plans for diverse patient populations.

Ideal candidates have 6 months of experience (1 year preferred), ASHA-SLP certification with state licensing, and BLS. The position offers a tax-free stipend and weekly pay; travel accommodations may be provided.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in Alliance, NE. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.As an SLP, you will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing. Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
