Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Travel Speech Language Pathologist for a 13‑week assignment. Schedule: 40 hours per week, dayshift, 8 hours per day.

The SLP will diagnose and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders, develop therapy plans, perform screenings, educate patients and families, and document progress per state and insurance guidelines. Requirements include 6 months of experience (new grads considered), BLS, ASHA‑SLP national certification, and state licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; new grads encouraged.
• Must hold BLS certification and ASHA-SLP national certification with state licensure.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in Tucson, AZ. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As an SLP, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
