Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech for a hospital-based travel assignment in Boston, MA. You will perform abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic and vascular ultrasound exams, with Doppler, across multiple hospital areas and portable units. Relocation is required and the 13-week assignment runs 4x10 night shifts (Thu–Sun).

This position pays weekly: $2,774–$2,867, with 72 guaranteed hours biweekly. Start date is 11/23/2026.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification and BLS certification required.
• Experience in abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic and vascular imaging; transplant imaging, Doppler and renal artery stenosis preferred.
• Availability for 4x10 night shifts and travel for a 13-week assignment.
• No local travelers accepted: candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment site.

Responsibilities

• Perform abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and selected vascular ultrasound examinations; assist with transplant-related imaging and Doppler studies
• Review charts, select appropriate equipment and transducers, and prepare the patient for testing
• Interview patients, explain procedures, address concerns, and position patients for optimal imaging
• Document images on PACS and provide images on film/paper as needed; maintain accurate workflow records
• Assist physicians during sterile invasive ultrasound-guided procedures as appropriate
• Work in various hospital areas outside the Ultrasound Suite using portable ultrasound when required (OR, ICU, ED, nursing floors)
• Ensure high-level disinfection of transducers and adherence to infection control protocols
• No on-call duties required for this assignment

Requirements

• ARDMS certification and verification; BLS certification required
• Demonstrated ultrasound experience across abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular imaging; experience with transplant imaging, Doppler, and renal artery stenosis preferred
• Ability to review charts and interact effectively with patients and health care staff
• Availability for 4x10 night shifts and travel for a 13-week assignment
• No local travelers accepted: candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment site
