MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN SICU - Surgical Intensive Care for a travel assignment in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The RN will provide high-level critical care in the SICU, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and support families. Requirements include RN license, BLS & ACLS, and 18 months SICU experience.

This travel role offers weekly pay, housing options, and comprehensive benefits. Shift: 12-hour nights; 36 hours per week; duration: 13 weeks.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS & ACLS certification required.
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care SICU setting.
• Other requirements to be determined by the client facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage care of adult SICU patients with life-threatening conditions requiring complex assessment and high-intensity therapies.
• Monitor vital signs and respond to signs of distress.
• Administer medications, IVs, and insert catheters as needed; ensure proper documentation.
• Provide patient care as well as education and support to the patient’s family.
• Ensure proper functioning of life support equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.
• Assist in emergency nursing procedures and CPR when needed.

Duties Responsibilities

SICU Nurse (RN) possesses the skills needed to manage the care of adult patients experiencing life-threatening problems requiring complex assessment, high intensity therapies, and interventions.

Provide patient care as well as education and support to the patient's family.

Ensure proper functioning of life support equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.

Observe the patient's heart rate, blood pressure and respiration for signs of distress.

Administer medication, IVs, and insert catheters as needed.

Meticulous documentation of medication administration.

Assist in emergency nursing procedures necessary for prompt control of changes in patient’s physical condition.

Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation accurately and effectively.
