Job summary

Critical Connection, inc invites an Occupational Therapist for a travel, school-based assignment in Federal Way, Washington. The role supports students within a collaborative educational team to help them participate in classroom activities and daily routines.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and experienced with children who have diverse developmental, physical, sensory, and learning needs.

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of assignment.
• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• NBCOT certification preferred or required based on state/district requirements.
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP processes, special education services, and school-based therapy models preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs and educational goals.
• Evaluate students' fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional school-based skills.
• Develop treatment plans and goals that support student participation in the classroom and school environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, re-evaluations, and progress reviews.
• Document therapy sessions, progress notes, evaluations, and required compliance paperwork accurately and timely.
• Recommend classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, and strategies to improve student independence and access to learning.
• Provide consultation and training to school staff and families as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
