MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Travel nurse RN First Assist for a travel assignment in Orange, California. The RNFA will operate as a first assistant in perioperative care, supporting the surgeon during procedures.

Ideal candidates have 18 months of acute perioperative experience as scrub and circulating nurse, an active RN license, and completion of an RNFA program meeting AORN standards; BLS, ACLS, and CNOR certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Perioperative Nursing practice as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
• Active RN License.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• RNFA program completion meeting AORN standards.
• BLS, ACLS, CNOR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon by performing technical functions during surgery, including intra-operative retraction, homeostasis, tissue manipulation, and wound closure.
• Provide direct patient care as part of the perioperative role as first assistant to the surgeon.
• RNFA performs first assisting under direct supervision of the primary surgeon.
• RNFA communicates patient care issues verbally to the surgeon.
