Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit position in West Virginia. Requires 2+ years of TELE/PCU/Stepdown experience and WV or compact RN licensure.

The role features night shifts (3x12/4x12, 19:00-7:30) with 84 hours every two weeks, travel-friendly guidelines, and comprehensive benefits including insurance, 401(k), and housing/travel reimbursements. Local candidates are not accepted.

Qualifications

• Active WV licensure or compact license required at time of consideration.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• AVADE Level 1 & 2 certification preferred.
• 2+ years of TELE/PCU/Stepdown experience required.
• 3–6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care preferred.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred.
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula preferred.
• CVA, post-TPA care, and neurosurgical patients experience preferred.
• Driver's license with matching permanent address required.
• Two professional references (one Charge or higher) within the last year.
• Copy of certifications required for consideration.
• Flu vaccine required; exemptions considered case-by-case.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital.
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6.
• Uses Meditech EMR (preferred experience).
• Night shift schedule, alternating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30).
• 84 hours per two-week pay period on a rotating schedule.
• Float within scope of practice.
• Every other weekend required.
• Provide care to telemetry monitored patients with cardiac drip management and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Support patients with CVA, post-TPA, pre/post neurosurgery, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal.
• Manage wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols as needed.
• Bi-weekly orientation provided.
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered upfront; no changes after offer.
• Must work major or minor holidays.
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after one year before returning.
• Traveler pairs accepted on limited basis; not scheduled on same shift/unit.
• Candidates may apply to only one position at a time.
