Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position in North Carolina. The role requires NC or compact RN licensure and prior PCU experience. You will work nights, 4x12hrs, with a 13-week assignment and on-call and holiday coverage as needed.

Expect 1 year minimum nursing experience and 2+ years PCU experience; ACLS preferred. Telemetry and cardiac/med-surg exposure with a 28-bed PCU. Competitive pay and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or compact license.
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC).
• NIHSS and CPI-A certifications required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience required.
• 2+ years of progressive care unit experience required.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced hospital setting utilizing the nursing process.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide relevant patient education.
• Growth opportunities available including PCCN certification, clinical ladder, and BSN/MSN support.
