Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Postpartum for a travel assignment in Milan, New Mexico. This 13-week engagement starts 09/21/2026 in a hospital perinatal unit (LDRP). The role features a 12-hour rotating night schedule (3x12) with potential holiday and weekend coverage.

The assignment emphasizes patient- and family-centered perinatal care and requires NM RN licensure, BLS/CPR, and perinatal specialty certifications. 36 guaranteed hours/week and weekly pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Education: ADN required; BSN preferred.
• LDRP: current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required.
• OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months.
• SAFER NM Technician certification preferred.
• Education and clinical experience for perinatal/postpartum care; ability to deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital.
• Ability to work in a hospital postpartum setting and float to other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct postpartum assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for postpartum patients and newborns.
• Deliver direct nursing care across the perinatal spectrum, promoting safe, evidence-based practices.
• Provide education to patients and families on postpartum and newborn care, lactation, and transitions of care.
• Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses and other staff; ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and care team; participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Float to other departments as needed with orientation and training.
