Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare in Carbondale, Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse – PCU (Travel) for a 13-week assignment starting 09/21/2026. The role is in a Progressive Care Unit with a focus on cardiac and respiratory patients, offering 36 hours per week on the night shift.

Travel pay is weekly, with overtime available and no on-call requirement; block schedules may vary. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and provide patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIHSS certification or documented requirement to possess NIHSS.
• Ability to work in a hospital setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work nights, with possible every other weekend and holiday coverage.
• Overtime availability with flexible scheduling; block schedules may vary.
• Experience floating to ICU when needed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs; develop and execute an individualized plan of care in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide patient and family education, explanations, and instructions regarding care plans and treatment.
• Demonstrate clinical nursing judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition promptly.
• Implement interventions, monitor patient responses, and document care and outcomes accurately.
• Maintain compliant, complete medical records and contribute to quality improvement and core measures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to sustain a supportive, professional work environment and participate in ongoing continuing education.
