Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with orthopedic and neuro surgical experience for a 14-week assignment in Georgia. This role requires an active GA or compact RN license and BLS; ACLS preferred. Expect 3x12 hour days, 6:30–19:00, with weekend work and on-call shifts. Supports include Pyxis, Epic EMR, and scrubs provided.

The position offers travel opportunities, 17 ORs, a diverse patient population, and potential for bonuses. First-time travelers are welcome.

Qualifications

• Active GA or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience.
• Orthopedic and neuro surgical experience required.
• Ability to circulate and perform conscious sedation.
• Scrub and trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a 17-room operating suite with pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Maintain 1:1 patient monitoring and provide intraoperative support.
• Work day shifts: 3x12 hour schedule (6:30–19:00).
• Weekend work includes Saturday, Sunday and at least one weekday.
• Potential weekend call; 6 call shifts in 6 weeks.
• Floats as needed within facility and scope of practice.
• Utilize Pyxis and Epic EMR for medication and documentation.
• Scrubs provided by the facility; comply with holiday coverage.
• Biweekly orientation may delay start date; fully compliant by start date.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting with 17 OR rooms
• Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:30-19:00)
• Schedule includes Saturday and Sunday plus one weekday
• Every other weekend required
• Weekend call possible depending on shift assignment
• On-call requirement of 6 call shifts in 6 weeks
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Pyxis system and Epic EMR
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Maximum 7 days of RTO permitted
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day)
• Candidates must be fully compliant by start date to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Piedmont permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Locals accepted at the same rate
