Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN for Med Surg/Telemetry in San Marcos, Texas. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, with nights on a 12-hour shift. Responsibilities include independent nursing care, medication administration, and patient education in a clinical setting.

The position requires a BSN, Texas RN license (or compact), BLS and ACLS, and at least 1 year of related experience. New nurses orientation is provided; benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association).
• RN license in Texas or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments following protocols.
• Monitors for side effects and documents patient history and care.
• Educates patients, families and caregivers; assesses learning needs.
