Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for Med/Surg and Rehabilitation in Windsor, Vermont, on a 12-hour night shift with 36 hours/week. The ideal candidate has Charge RN experience and VT or compact RN license.

Hospital setting on a Med/Surg and Rehabilitation unit, with per diem, travel reimbursements, and a robust benefits package. First-time travelers are not eligible; own vehicle required.

Qualifications

• Active VT or compact RN license required.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Rehabilitation experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months required.
• Charge RN experience required.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital Med/Surg and Rehabilitation unit.
• Night shift with 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required as needed.
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 with an average census of 22 patients.
• May float between Acute Rehab and Med/Surg units.
• May be assigned as a backup Charge Nurse.
• Uses Cerner EMR; experience required or strongly preferred.
• Candidate must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transport.
• Local travelers residing within 50 miles are ineligible.
• Coordinates total nursing care including patient and family teaching.
• Maintains professional nursing standards and collaborates with ancillary staff.
• Orientation provided upon start.
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) will be considered during assignment.
• Holiday work may be required if needed.
• Scrub or dress code not specified; follow standard professional attire.
• First-time travelers are not eligible.
