Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Neuro position in Minnesota. An active Minnesota RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg Neuro experience are required. First-time travelers are welcome.

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota RN license required; pending license accepted with proof of submission date
• Current BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Neuro experience required
• Experience with Rapid Response Team utilization required

Responsibilities

• Care on a 45-bed Neuroscience Spine Unit including an 8-bed NPCU step-down area
• Utilizes Team Nursing on the general unit and Primary Nursing in the NPCU
• Patient ratios vary by role: Team RN/LPN/NA 6-7; RN/LPN 5; RN/NA 4; NPCU 1:3
• Ceiling lifts available in 20 patient rooms
• Uses ICP monitoring, arterial line monitoring, cardiac monitoring, remote cardiac monitoring, EEG, lumbar drainage
• Charting is done in Epic
• 4x12 Day/Night schedule with every other weekend
• Rotating holiday coverage; on-call as needed
• May float to like units; work in acute care Magnet-designated teaching hospital with Level II Trauma
• Provide direct patient care using cardiac monitoring and rapid response/code protocols
• First-time travelers welcome
• Candidates must not reside within 25 miles
• MN Livescan fingerprinting within 48 hours of signing
• Required lab work within 48 hours of signing
