Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Tacoma, WA. Start ASAP with 48 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts. Applicants should have 3 years of recent acute care experience and hold BLS, NRP and AWHONN certifications, among others.

L&D RNs provide care before, during, and after delivery, assist with epidurals and cesarean prep, and support physicians throughout the birthing process. Includes a tax-free stipend, with pay based on shifts.

Qualifications

• BLS, NRP, AWHONN, 2 years of acute care experience required; additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
• Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after birthing process.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
• Immediate care of newborn.
