Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Austin, TX. The role offers competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits, with a start date of 09/28/2026 and a 13-week duration.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of recent LD RN experience, an active RN license, BLS, and NRP certification. Additional certifications such as AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE, and ACLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and exams.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
