Responsibilities

• Pre-Labor and Admission Assessment: assess health histories, vitals, NSTs, fetal monitoring, educate on labor and delivery.
• Labor Support and Monitoring: monitor contractions, cervical dilation, fetal/maternal vitals; administer meds and provide pain relief.
• Assisting with Delivery: assist with vaginal delivery and cesarean sections; neonatal care post-birth.
• Documentation and Reporting: record assessments, meds, and progress in EHR.
• Collaboration and Communication: work with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists; obtain informed consent.
• Infection Control and Safety: maintain sterile environment and verify equipment.
• Emergency and High-Risk Situations: respond to complications, manage hypertension, GDM, infections.
• Patient Education and Advocacy: educate on postpartum care and newborn care; support family decisions.
