Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking RN travel staff for the 4 North Cardiac Telemetry unit in Kansas City, MO. Shift is Day Shift, 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM, with full-time hours and weekend requirements.

You will handle cardiac telemetry patients, administer IV medications, and support post-procedural care in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should have Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience, be able to read EKGs, and hold ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience.
• Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips.
• Experience with post cardiac procedures (Ablations, catheters, Open Heart).
• Able to administer and titrate IV medications (insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone).

Responsibilities

• Provide care on 4 North Cardiac Telemetry unit.
• Perform procedures listed: IV insertions, NGT placement, Chest Tube maintenance, Temporary Pacemakers, Foley insertions.
• Adhere to unit guidelines and policies; ensure patient safety and comfort.

General Information

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds : 29
• Patient Ratios : 1:4
• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
• Type of equipment : Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Client beds, dinamap in each room, 3 Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitor, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, Imobile for communication between team members
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling requirements: Must work full time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.
• Floating policy: Contract Nurses will be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency.
• Patient Experience requirements: Must align with our patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect and to be responsive to the call light (using patients preferred name, making personal connections, involving the patient in bedside shift report, teaching the patient how to use the phone to call nurse directly, and to always ask if there is anything else you can do before leaving the room).

• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Dress Code : (Required uniform)

• Navy Blue scrubs. May wear black scrub pants with Navy Blue top.
