American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN Case Manager for a Well Child/Immunization public health program in the Yukon Kuskokwim region. The role requires pediatric experience and travel to villages, with on-site instruction and collaboration with CHA/Practitioners.

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN or public health experience.
• Diploma/AA in Nursing required; BSN/MSN preferred.
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS recommended.
• Pediatric knowledge and experience required.
• Proficient with MS Office; Cerner within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Public health case management covering well-child checkups, immunizations, TB and infectious disease screening, testing, and chronic care management.
• Day shift with travel to villages to render services and provide on-site instruction.
• Trains Community Health Aides/Practitioners in exams, testing, and immunizations.
• Participates in design, QA, and assessment of public health programs.
• Coordinates with other providers and maintains accurate records.
• Educates on immunizations, chronic care, preventive exams, and testing to diverse audiences.
• Assists with instruction during CHA/P CME events for staff.
• Monitors patient progress and stays current with public health knowledge.
• Hospital housing provided in remote area with shared spaces and private rooms.
• Flights reimbursed for assignment with proper documentation.
• Orientation held on Tuesday and Wednesday.

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for a Well Child/Immunization public health program requiring pediatric experience and village travel across the Yukon Kuskokwim region.

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN or public health-related work experience required
• Diploma, AAS, or Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS recommended
• Pediatric knowledge and experience required
• Computer experience required; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) preferred
• Must become proficient with Cerner and its modules within 3 months of hire
• Must become proficient with EPSDT exam equipment and tools within 3 months of hire
• Experience in teaching, cross-cultural settings, and knowledge of the Community Health Aide Program preferred
• Fluent English required; fluency in Yugtun preferred
• Must demonstrate ability to guide and supervise student Health Aides and Health Aides
• Documentation required for competencies including IV/central line care, fall precautions, age-specific competencies, abuse/neglect recognition, pain management, and blood transfusions
• Must be prepared to take a medication calculation math test for adults and pediatrics upon arrival

• Hospital housing provided in a remote area with shared common spaces and private bedrooms (male or female units only, no pets allowed)
• Hospital reimburses economy-level flights to and from assignment with proper documentation
• Orientation held on Tuesday and Wednesday
