Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for the Cardiac Cath Lab in Petersburg, Virginia. This assignment requires cath lab experience and an active VA- or compact-approved RN license.

You will work 40 hours per week on 10-hour daytime shifts, with a 7-week duration starting 01/05/2026. Shifts run 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with on-call duties 8–10 days per month, including every third weekend.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac cath lab, telemetry, critical care, ER, or OR.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with conscious sedation and critical care required.
• NIH Stroke certification preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• Must live within 50 miles from the facility.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting.
• Shifts are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Call required 8-10 days per month including every third weekend, with call duration ranging from 15 to 62 hours.
• Care for cardiac catheterization patients with possible procedures (IABP, Impella, etc.).
• May float to IR and EP departments.
• Respond to STEMI call backs in <30 minutes during on-call shifts.
• Functions as scrub nurse and circulator.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and families.
