Job summary

ARMStaffing seeks a travel Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role features a 36-hour work week with rotating 12-hour shifts, working under physician supervision to provide cardiopulmonary care and life support across patient populations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of RT experience, a CoARC-approved program, and active BLS; RTT certification is required, with NRP may be needed for select facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT) certification required.
• NRP certification may be required for certain facilities.
• State Licenses must be maintained per PA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Read prescriptions and assess patient conditions to determine therapy requirements.
• Determine suitable methods for administering inhalants according to physician's orders.
• Set up and operate respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring treatment parameters.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Perform bronchopulmonary drainage and assist with breathing exercises.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests for diagnostic purposes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate with physicians.
• Transport mechanically ventilated patients and respond to code situations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned per system-wide competencies.
