Job summary

Bestica is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Butte, Montana. The role requires providing advanced hospital-based respiratory care, performing ABGs, and implementing protocols while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

You will work 3×12-hour night shifts, totaling 36 hours per week, with opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Current Respiratory Therapy license in the state of practice.
• BLS / Healthcare Provider Life Support certification.
• Strong respiratory care and patient assessment skills.
• Ability to perform ABGs and follow established respiratory protocols.
• Strong critical-thinking, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret respiratory diagnostic testing according to established protocols.
• Obtain and evaluate arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on patient assessments.
• Administer respiratory medications safely and evaluate patient response.
• Monitor patients' overall condition and communicate changes with physicians and nursing staff.
• Make appropriate recommendations regarding respiratory patient care.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health, self-care techniques, and treatment modalities.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and productivity records.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and research initiatives.
• Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
• Act as a resource, consultant, and mentor to other respiratory therapy staff.
• Float to other departments when needed, within your scope of competency and qualifications.
