Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 2+ years of Trauma Level I adult critical care experience for a night shift hospital assignment.

Details

• Adult and geriatric patient population in an adult critical care setting
• Performs extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
• Administers medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Delivers medications via aerosol mask/trach setups, Medihaler, and metered dose inhalers
• Uses hand held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
• Provides oxygen therapy via high flow nasal cannula and trach collar
• Manages ventilator support including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required, subject to change as needed
• May be required to float to other qualified units or campuses based on census needs

Requirements

• Active RRT license in South Carolina required in hand (pending license not accepted); license required if applicable
• ACLs and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Proficiency in arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation required

Additional Information

• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted subject to radius rule criteria
• Orientation occurs every Monday and includes annual compliance requirements
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application and are subject to facility approval
