Job Description

The Respiratory Practitioner DME is responsible for basic equipment-related patient assessments and coordinating the setup of respiratory equipment. The position involves working with a diverse patient population, including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics, within a daily census of 10 patients. The practitioner will utilize equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, trach collars, and apnea monitors, while collaborating with respiratory services and interpretation services for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic equipment-related patient assessments.
• Coordinate the setup of respiratory equipment.
• Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Provide care for patients with conditions like COPD and sleep apnea.
• Utilize various respiratory equipment efficiently, including CPAP and BiPAP.
• Participate in interdisciplinary support initiatives.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification required.
• Current MD License required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
