Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS. The Respiratory Therapist provides high-acuity respiratory care in an acute care setting, supporting pediatric and neonatal patients while managing ventilators, bilevel positive airway pressure, continuous positive airway pressure, and arterial blood gas procedures. The role requires strong intensive care experience, clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; active Arizona Respiratory Therapist license; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for professionals supporting neonatal patients; minimum of 3 years of experience; strong intensive care experience; proficiency with at least one of the following: Servo I, jet ventilators, or oscillators.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neonatal intensive care experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; proficiency managing all ventilator types, bilevel positive airway pressure using V60 systems, and continuous positive airway pressure.
• Schedule: Day or night shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.; 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week; every other weekend or four weekend shifts per four-week period; participation in holiday rotation based on unit coverage.
• Additional Information: Provides respiratory therapy in a high-acuity acute care environment; assists with bronchoscopies; responds to Clinical Response Team calls with the lead clinician; performs arterial blood gas procedures; supports approximately 3540 respiratory procedures per day; completes a two-day unit orientation followed by skills validation; wears black scrubs; works with a lead clinician on every shift; no floating to outpatient areas.
