Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for their Emergency Department in Carlsbad, NM. This role is for a 13-week contract beginning ASAP, with a midday shift from 1 PM to 1 AM. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in emergency nursing and hold certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC. This position requires accountability for patient care, critical thinking, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in Emergency Department nursing is required.

Job Summary

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) / Emergency Dept

Travel ER RN – Start: ASAP, Duration: 13 weeks, Shift: Midday 1pm – 1am (floating required).

Contract. In-office, Carlsbad, NM, United States.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience required
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC required
• NRP preferred

General Comments

• Call out/Off requirement: 2 hours prior to shift start, at a minimum
• Emergency Department, Level 3 Trauma
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Blocked scheduling not approved
• 48‑hr guarantees not approved
• RTO blackout dates or required holidays: 1 summer & 1 winter; dependent on dept needs
• Max RTO: 1 per schedule; 6 week scheduling
• Floating required
• No call required
• Scrub color: any color – full inform; no t‑shirts/hoodies; only undershirts under scrub top
• EMR: MedHost (EDIS)

Responsibilities

• Hold shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients using the nursing process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy and procedures.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgement, and leadership in anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Knowledge of nursing process & clinical nursing practices
• Perform thorough assessments & communicate findings effectively.
• Proficient in administering medications & monitoring side effects.
• Strong organizational skills & attention to detail in documenting patient care.
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control & quality improvement initiatives.
