Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the NICU according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines.
• Monitor neonates with critical conditions, perform ongoing assessments, interpret findings, administer medications, and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Manage NICU equipment and monitoring, ensure proper thermoregulation, infection control, and compliance with safety protocols; assist with ventilator support as indicated.
• Document care accurately, communicate updates to families, provide education and support to parents/caregivers, and ensure seamless handoffs across shifts.
