• Monitor patient status and escalate as needed to the medical team
• Support families with education and transition planning

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to neonatal patients in the NICU, including ongoing assessments and vital sign monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; manage IVs, monitoring devices, vents, and NICU protocols.
• Collaborate with the neonatology team to develop and implement individualized care plans; participate in rounds and care conferences.
• Document care and updates in the electronic medical record (Cerner) with accurate and timely charting.
• Monitor for changes in patient status, anticipate needs, and elevate concerns to the medical team as required.
• Support families with education and transition planning, using developmentally appropriate and family-centered communication.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience
• BLS and NRP certifications (American Heart Association)
• Experience with Cerner or a similar electronic medical record system
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet holiday coverage requirements
• Eligible for travel assignment and able to complete onboarding and credentialing processes
• Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; eligible for GA RN licensure
