Licensing, ARRT certification, CPR, and prior radiation therapy experience are required or preferred. The role involves delivering prescribed radiation, collaborating with oncologists, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Most states require licensure.
• ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Eighteen months of Radiation Therapy experience preferred, ideally in a critical care setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic doses of radiation as prescribed for cancer treatment.
• Discuss treatment plans with patient in partnership with oncologist and physician.
• Establish correct radiation dosage and treatment location.
• Explain potential side effects and how to manage them.
• Safely operate radiotherapy equipment and monitor for safety.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and comply with regulations.
