Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Radiation Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Alexandria, LA. The role requires 1 year of experience, BLS, and ARRT (T) certification; state licensure may be required. Expect 40 hours weekly, 8-hour days, and travel compensation.

The Radiation Therapist will administer treatments, position patients, verify settings, use imaging to guide delivery, and maintain records while upholding safety standards and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• ARRT (T) National Certification.
• State licensure may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using therapy equipment.
• Position patients accurately for each treatment session.
• Verify treatment settings and patient identity before delivering therapy.
• Monitor patients during procedures for safety and comfort.
• Use imaging guidance (CT, X-ray) to plan accurate treatment delivery.
• Document treatment details and maintain patient records.
• Communicate with physicians, dosimetrists, and the team.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and side effects.
• Inspect and calibrate therapy equipment regularly.
• Follow strict radiation safety protocols for patients and staff.
