Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant for a 13-week travel assignment in Monroe, Michigan. You will work under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, assist with exercises, and monitor patient progress in a facility setting.

The role emphasizes hands-on care, documentation, home exercise guidance, and collaboration with the healthcare team to support recovery and functional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices are calibrated and ready for patient sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and provide hands-on movement assistance as needed.
• Observe patient performance, record progress, and report concerns to the supervising therapist.
• Document treatment details and progress in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with therapists and other professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain a safe environment and comply with infection control and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality assurance and professional development activities.
• Assist with discharge planning to support continuity of care.
