Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel assignment in Estero, FL. This position supports a Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance patient independence.

Travel PTAs receive competitive weekly pay from $1,072 to $1,291, comprehensive benefits, and a dedicated clinical team to assist throughout the assignment. Start dates are ASAP and housing options may be available.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices are calibrated, clean, and ready for sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength and balance with hands-on assistance as needed.
• Observe patient performance, note changes, and report progress or concerns to supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately record patient treatment details and progress in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and proper use of assistive devices.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
• Engage in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices.
