Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment in Gallup, NM. You will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, helping patients regain mobility and reduce pain across various settings.

The role offers competitive weekly pay ($1,443 to $1,738) and a comprehensive benefits package, with start date around 10/26/2026 and dayshift hours.

Qualifications

• Valid PTA license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program (preferred).
• PTA experience preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices and supplies are calibrated, clean, and ready for patient sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and balance, with hands-on assistance as needed.
• Observe patient performance, note changes in function, and report progress to the supervising PT.
• Accurately record patient treatment details, progress, and adjustments in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
• Engage in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices.
